My love for English Springer Spaniels began in 1950 when my father brought home a 10-month old liver and white springer bitch with a broken leg. Her name was Patsy and her owner gave her to my father for the price of the vet bill. She was a wonderful pet and I fell in love with the breed.
In 1975 I acquired another springer. Her name was Bushlo's Badinage and we called her "T". "T" had been bred for the show ring but was being sold because her front feet turned out and she would never finish her championship. We thought she was wonderful. "T" was owned and bred by Candace Johnson of Bushlo Springers who later leased her bitch Highcliff's Here Am I of Penhope, "Amy" to me. I bred Amy to Ch. Bordalyn's Love Affair and kept the only black and white bitch in the litter. Luck was with us. This little bitch became our first champion, A/C Ch. Lear's Tarragon Splash CD. And so we had begun.
On October 14, 1989 I married Len Cooper and "Lear Springers" became "LenLear Springers".
